The Cafe:

Opened in September 2009, Tranquilo is the original North-American style cafe on Little Corn Island - open for Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner -  Delicious and varied alternatives to traditional Central American rice & beans fare: Local Farm-Sourced Salads; Catch of the day Fish Tacos, Juicy Cheddar Cheeseburgers, Spicy Chicken Wings, a variety of Quesadillas, along with many veggie and vegan choices. Our menu also features the only authentic Smoked BBQ offerings this side of the country: Pulled Pork, Succulent Baby Back Ribs, and more all prepped in our custom-made backyard smoker.
All that, and many daily specials too!

Also serving fresh brewed Nicaraguan Coffees (hot & cold brew varieties), as well as Espresso drinks, fresh local Fruit Juices, made-to-order Fruit Smoothies, Ice Cold Cocktails, and the Largest Craft Beer Selection in the Corn Islands, including a wide variety of Nicaraguan craft beers,

Finish it off with Fresh Baked Cookies, Brownies and Blondies, & in-house-made made Ice Cream Desserts.

All "right here" on our large deck on the beach in a location that's great for people and sunset watching.

Tranquilo is also solar powered, has full-time electricity, and we provide charging stations for your electronic devices. We also welcome remote workers!

Tranquilo Night Life:

After dinner, Tranquilo is world known as the Little Corn Island night spot. Famous for our twice-weekly bonfire parties, Tuesday nights there's "Pub Quiz" trivia. Wednesdays we feature a live cultural Drumming and Dancing show with "Garifuna Wagia!" followed by a live Dj for your dancing pleasure. Saturday it's dance night with live DJ's, occasional live music shows and theme parties.
​We're a terrific place to meet and swap stories with other fun-seeking travelers.
