A few tips on getting to Little Corn
First... Book a flight to Nicaragua. There are several airlines flying into Managua: American, Continental, Taca, Delta, and Spirit. From Managua, you'll fly on La Costeña Airlines to Corn Island. Their ticket counter is just outside the main terminal. The flight takes only about one and half hours total, and there is sometimes a brief stop in Bluefields on the way. They leave Managua 2 times daily, at 6:30 am and 2:00 pm, so book international flights that arrive at least two hours before these times. For your return: Flights to Managua from Corn Island arrive at about 7:50 am and 3:20 pm. With a well-planned itinerary, you'll make the trip to and from Little Corn Island and major cities in the US in a single day. The cost of a round trip ticket to Corn Island from Managua is about $164 when booking by phone, in person, or via email. VISA and US dollars are accepted.

If faxing, address your correspondence to Julio Caballero. He is the airline's owner, and he speaks English well. Ask for a return email or fax for confirmation. Reservations are highly recommended, since flights do tend to book up - typically several days in advance, especially during busy season. If you are not sure of your return date you can ask for an "open return" to avoid ticket change fees later. (You can call them from Tranquilo Cafe to book your return, once you know it.)
After arriving in Corn Island there's a cheap, 30 cordoba, (or about $1us), 7-minute taxi ride to the municipal wharf. It may cost a little extra if you have lots of luggage. Make sure to tell the driver that you want to go "right to the wharf, for the ferry to Little Corn"
Once at the wharf, there is a water taxi that leaves to Little Corn Island every morning at 10:00 and every afternoon at about 4:30. Cost is $5.00 per person. The trip takes about thirty minutes in an open speed boat (called a "Panga"). Assume that you will get wet during the ride, which can be pretty bumpy on rough days. (Helpful Hint: Sit towards the back of the boat for the smoothest ride, around the middle of the boat to stay dryer).
There will be a variety of helpful people to greet you when you arrive at the wharf.
When you get settled in, and are ready for some good food and fun, stop by Tranquilo. We're on the "front side" right between the 2 dive shops.
